Cow Shares are the New Farm Shares

Fresh, local cow milk is one of the perks of living in the countryside.

Unpasteurized, unhomogenized milk is not legally for  sale in Virginia. Luckily, it is obtainable from farms that sell cow shares in their dairy farms. There are lots of beef cows in the fields covering Western Albermarle County, but not many dairy farms left.  Even fewer have co-share programs, but they are gaining popularity and hopefully will become more common in the future.
